This month, we are joining the American Library Association and hundreds of libraries nationwide in the celebration of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) Book Month. GLBT Book Month celebrates authors, books, and writings that reflect the lives and experiences of the GLBT community.

Eureka Valley Recreation Center Reading
The Cartoon Art Museum and Queer Comics Expo are doing a queer friendly volunteer recruitment event on Oct 14th 12:30PM-4:30PM in San Francisco at the Eureka Valley Recreation Center on Collingwood and 18th Street near the Castro. I will be going near the beginning of the event, and reading a chapter from my new book, The Big Book of Bisexual Trials and Errors.
Queers & Comics Conference
Excited to be attending and presenting at the Queers & Comics Conference 2017 at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco! I will be moderating the panel on bisexuality/ fluid sexuality (exact time coming soon), and co-curating a "Queer Comics Live!" reading with the inimitable Ajuan Mance on Sunday, April 16, Noon - 2pm.

19th & Lexington: Images from San Francisco's last lesbian bar 1997-2015
Please join us on Friday September 2nd at 6pm for the opening reception of 19th & Lexington - an art show and film screening curated by Lauren Tabak and Susie Smith in partnership with Qulture Collective. Ace Morgan,Molly DeCoudreaux, Cody Prebys-Williams, Elizabeth Beier and Rebeka Rodriguez will also be showing work that spans the Lexington Club's 18 year history. Show runs 9/2/16 - 10/8/16.
Reading: Alphabet ANTHOLOGY!
Come for a reading by local queer cartoonists who are featured in the Alphabet comic anthology! Readers include Eight Rock, Elizabeth Beier, Scout Tran-Caffee, Tyler Cohen, Diego Gomez, Robyn Adams, Ahri Almeida, Emeric L Kennard, Maia Kobabe, and Dorian Katz. After the reading, you can buy a book and get it signed! This will be a fun LGBTQ cultural event -- queers, allies, artists, and comic lovers are all welcome.

RADAR Reading Series (part of Litquake
As part of Litquake, I will be presenting some of my Lex comics at the SF Public Library during a reading series with RADAR Productions. RADAR was founded in 2003 by Michelle Tea and conducts presenting, commissioning, publishing, professional development and touring programs that stimulate the production of queer and underground literature in San Francisco.
Mad Max Art Show

Give Me Cred: Art show at Southern Exposure
I will be collaborating with debt activist Cassie Thorton to produce a show about a more well-rounded, humanistic approach to credit reports. Will feature drawings and stories about real people (with distinguishing characteristics changed) who may have low credit "scores", but fantastic lives and narratives, who we would absolutely want to be able to find a home in the Bay Area.
Night of a Thousand Sketches

A comics reading at Actual Cafe! Including myself, Kane Lynch, Amy Martin, and two other cartoonists TBD. Enjoy delicious drinks and macaroni and cheese while we read comics to you.
Comics Reading at Pegasus Books
Come for a comics reading featuring cartoonists Swaz Soizick Jaffre,Elizabeth Beier, Ellis Kim and Jon Macy. Ellis Kim teaches classes on comics and will be starting the night off with excerpts from his series Time Fiddler, in which badass women travel in time. Soizick is joining us all the way from the Paris area where she teaches English and draws comics known for their vivid colors. She, Elizabeth and Jon will likely read a preview from the upcoming LGBT comic anthology ALPHABET, which will be published by Stacked Decked Press and released at Wondercon 2016. They may also read other awesome comics they have made as they see fit.
We will project pictures onto a screen and read to you. It will be awesome.

As part of Pride week, the Cartoon Art Museum is going to be hosting the second annual Queer Comics Expo. I have been invited to give a short presentation about my Lexington Club project. Details TBD.
San Francisco LGBT Center Board Party
The SF LGBT Center's Board of Directors invite you to kick-off the Pride Season at the Board Pride Party! Wednesday, June 10, from 6-9 pm.
Guests will be able to mingle with Center board members and supporters, take a tour of the Center, watch amazing belly dance performances, play interactive games, enjoy an open bar and hors d’oeuvres, and dance like everyone is watching!
Live Cartooning with Elizabeth Beier!!
Elizabeth Beier, a local cartoonist, can make a personalized portrait for you within ten minutes, and also capture your answer to the question of why the Center's work is important. You can keep the originals of the drawings, and she will also compile them to create a web comic about the work that still needs to be done to ensure LGBT health, justice and strength. Beier honed her skills in this kind of cartooning while drawing stories for her book We Belong: Stories and Portraits from the Lexington Club. See more about her at www.elizabethdrewyou.com.

Attention friends and fans of the Lexington Club: all that art I've been doing about the Lex, including paintings, comics, and interviews, will be coming together into a real book. At this event I'll present and read some of the comics from a projector, the book & some art will be available for purchase, and it we can all gather and reminisce.
I'm also reaching out to other local artists to take part! Direct message me if you are interested! Mars Adams will be bringing some one-of-a-kind Lex-themed hats -- SO excited about that. I want this to be a place for the community to come together!
