Every painting casts a spell…
I’m acrylic painter based in Albuquerque. I moved to New Mexico at the best and worst time of my life. I was falling in love with my partner and new home. At the same time, my beloved father was dying. I enjoyed exploring outside, and learned the names of new plants, birds, and mountains. In doing so, I rediscovered a magic that humans have always had access to if they looked for it – the ability to tune into nature's cycles and patterns and find comfort in them. My painting is part of that spiritual path.
The first part of my process is to go on a camping trip, road trip, or just a simple walk to feel connected with nature. I'm drawn to subjects both vast and tiny, from canyons to wildflowers. I love anything that changes in cycles, like phases of the moon or trees in different seasons. I paint these subjects with acrylic onto canvas with a signature feminine, undulating line. In addition to original paintings, I create oracle cards, greeting cards, posters, and prints. My work speaks to witches, nature lovers, and seekers. My paintings are a way to connect to my spirituality, my dad, and the existential joy of being alive on Earth.
As a proud New Mexico True Certified artist, I make my artwork here and create my prints, cards, and other printed materials locally in Albuquerque. Painting the Southwest is the name of my business and how I appear at markets. I’m a member of Corrales Bosque Art Gallery, the Albuquerque Art and Business Association, and the North Valley Studio Tour. Select paintings are available at Electra Gallery in Santa Fe.
