About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Beier makes transformative narrative art about sexuality, body image, intimacy and community. Her first book, The Big Book of Bisexual Trials and Errors (Northwest Press, 2017), was a memoir about app-assisted queer dating in the Bay Area. Advocate named it one of the best LGBT graphic novels of the year. Elizabeth's shorter comics have also appeared in SF Chronicle, The Nib, and The Lily.

The only thing more fun than comics is comics performed live, so Elizabeth organizes events with other cartoonists several times per year. She has read at beloved bookstores in Berkeley, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, and New York. She also  performed at the 2016 San Francisco Moth Grand Slam at the Castro Theater. She believes that real people baring their souls through art, face to face with people in their community, creates a kind of magic that can never be ordered on Amazon Prime.

Elizabeth sits on the board of Prism Comics, a non-profit organization that promotes LGBT+ creators, stories, characters, and readers in the comics industry. She has also been a guest lecturer on comics at the California College of the Arts.
