I was in Page, Arizona, fresh from viewing Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Ben, when the storm clouds rolled in and I couldn't look away. There's something about a dramatic Southwest sky that feels personal, like it's saying something directly to you. This one was. I painted it thinking about change, about the people we love, about the way weather has always been a language for the things we can't quite say out loud.

The orange globemallow in the lower left corner is pure Southwestern resilience. It blooms both before and after the storm.
